在粘性极高的环境下，即使为1GPM的流速，也可以保证总有新鲜的样品流经电极的平表面。

在食品或奶制品行业，只需很微小的流量即可监测pH值。可以把材料引入废水处理的管道上，这样保证pH玻璃不会污染到食品上。
速率在0.5—0.2GPM，即可以提供非常准确的pH值。

相对于pH测量固态传感技术来说，玻璃传感技术已被确认为更易使用，重复性更好，更低廉，更准确，更可信赖。
