平滑肌细胞在动脉**中起到重要作用。血管SMC切换到增殖表型的能力是血管**的发生和发展的主要因素之一。*近的研究表明SMC表达钙离子通道、细胞间粘附分子(ICAM-1)、血管细胞粘附分子-1(VCAM-1)。ICAM-1和VCAM-1在SMC的表达可能有助于在血管壁的炎症反应,并可能参与血管**的进展。血管平滑肌细胞在血管**研究中起到重要作用,可以被用来界定**动脉**新的**靶标。
