平滑肌细胞在动脉**中起到重要作用。血管SMC切换到增殖表型的能力是血管**的发生和发展的主要因素之一。*近的研究表明SMC表达钙离子通道、细胞间粘附分子（ICAM-1）、血管细胞粘附分子-1（VCAM-1）。ICAM-1和VCAM-1在SMC的表达可能有助于在血管壁的炎症反应，并可能参与血管**的进展。血管平滑肌细胞在血管**研究中起到重要作用，可以被用来界定**动脉**新的**靶标。
Sciencell研究实验室的HASMC是从人主动脉分离得到的，原代冻存，冰冻运输。每管细胞密度超过5×10^5/ml。细胞特性经α-平滑肌肌动蛋白和肌间线蛋白**荧光鉴定。本细胞经检测不含HIV-1、HBV、HCV、支原体、**、酵母菌和**。如采用ScienCell 实验室提供的实验条件，可保证此细胞15倍增增殖。
