The SED series are CW broad area single
emitter diodes. These diodes generate high output power in the infrared.
SED series diodes emit at 808nm, 885nm,
940nm, or 976nm with powers from 0.5 to 8W, and TE or TM polarization.
Devices are available unmounted, mounted on
a substrate, or in one of two different C-block style packages. All require
cooling during normal operation.

As the output from these devices is highly
divergent, additional optics are generally required to collect, collimate and
focus the optical emission. Alternatively, fibre coupled devices are available.
