Responds to mitogenic stimulation by phytohemagglutinin and forms colonies in soft agar medium or on contact inhibited monolayers. The melanoma cells have also been shown to be responsive to the anti proliferative activity of interferon.
Hs 294T细胞Results from a competitive binding study indicated that Hs 294T cells possess at least two types of interferon (IFN) receptors, one which binds IFN alpha and IFN beta and another which binds IFN gamma.

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin solution for 2 to 3 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at 37C for 10 to 15 minutes. Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
