Cytogenetic Analysis: modal number = 69; range = 65 to 74.
This is a pseudotriploid human cell line with the modal chromosome number of 69, occurring in 24% of cells. However, cells having chromosome counts from 65 to 70 also occurred at high frequencies. The rate of cells with higher ploidies was 7%. There were eight marker chromosomes common to most cells. Capan-2细胞They included paired del(1) (p22), t(8q11q), i(14q), single i(7p) and four others. Two more markers were seen only in some cells. Only one normal X chromosome was found in G-banded preparation. The Y chromosome was not detected in the Q-banded preparation.

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated McCoy's 5a Medium Modified, Catalog No. 30-2007. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Subculturing: Protocol: Remove medium, and rinse with 0.25% trypsin, 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Remove the solution and add an additional 1 to 2 ml of trypsin-EDTA solution. Capan-2细胞Allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or at 37C) until the cells detach.Add fresh culture medium, aspirate and dispense into new culture flasks.
