Comments: This cell line was derived from HOS (ATCC CRL-1543) KHOS/NP (R-970-5)细胞by transformation using Kirsten murine sarcoma virus (Ki-MSV).
The cells exhibit a high saturation density, a high plating efficiency in soft agar and produce tumors in nude mice.
The cells are useful producing MSV pseudotypes with various ecotropic and xenotropic murine leukemia viruses.
Cells carry the Ki-MSV genome but do not produce infectious virus particles or viral antigens.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium, Catalog No. 30-2003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin solution for 2 to 3 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature until the cells detach. KHOS/NP (R-970-5)细胞Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
