Description
The ViPrimePLUS Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis genome in food, milk, tissues and faeces.
Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) is a Gram positive bacterium, responsible for causing Johne's disease in cattle and other ruminants. The outcomes of the outbreak include chronic enteritis, malnourishment, lower pregnancy rates, and reduced milk yield and quality, leading to major losses in the domestic animal farm industries. Transmission is usually via the faecal-oral route, by the ingestion of contaminated water and food. As infected animals shed the pathogen in milk and into the environment, humans are exposed to these threats. There are studies supporting the pathogenesis of the pathogen towards human linking them to the Crohn's disease, though the notion has yet been confirmed. Clinical signs are hard to be distinguished, thus rapid and sensitive detection system has to be placed to prevent the spread of the infection.
ViPrimePLUS Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis qPCR Kit is intended for research use only.
