Comments: F. Oettgen and associates isolated this line using cells obtained from the thoracic duct of a patient with widespread and rapidly progressing malignant melanoma.

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium, Catalog No. 30-2003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Subculturing: Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Establish new cultures at 1 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain at 2 X 10 exp5.
