Tumbling Barrel：Model 5100/5100S

 

The Tumbling Barrel executes a mechanical impact test of components such as plugs. The barrel rotates and the samples fall down from a height of 500 mm for every half turn rotation of the barrel. The rotation speed is 5 turns per minute (10 test cycles per minute). Speed can be adjusted with a variable transformer. The fall-down surface is made of steel sheet, 3 mm, with wooden supports, 20 mm. The barrel is made of painted steel sheet, 1.5 mm. This can be equipped with one or two barrels. This instrument complies with IEC 65, figure 9; CEE 7 and other industry standards

Testing parameters

1.  Fall height for sample is 500 mm

2.  Fall down floor in the barrel consists of a steel sheet 3 mm thick supported of a 20 mm wooden surface of blackwood/plywood

3.  Rotation speed is 5 rotations a minute. This means 10 falls a minute

4.  The barrel has two doors for putting in the sample

5.  Only one sample is tested in the barrel at the time

6.  The barrel is motor operated and has a counter with automatic stop after preset amount of cycles. 1 (one) rotation means two cycles on the counter
