Perovskite Nanocrystals
Metal halides perovskite-based quantum dots are newcomer optoelectronic materials that have attracted enormous attention as solution-deposited absorbing layers in solar cells. The performance of metal halide perovskite solar cells has made rapid increases in energy conversion efficiency, improving from under 4% efficiency in 2010 to a record efficiency of 22% in 2016. With the potential of achieving even higher efficiencies and the very low production costs, perovskite solar cells have become commercially attractive, with start-up companies already promising modules on the market by 2017. Highly luminescent perovskite-based colloidal quantum dot with mono-dispersity have been synthesized using inexpensive commercial precursors. Through compositional modulations and quantum size-effects, the bandgap energies and emission spectra are readily tunable over the entire visible spectral region of 410−700 nm. Here, we provide three types of metal halides perovskite-based quantum dots (CsPbX 3 ) emitting at 410 nm, 500 nm and 650 nm respectively, with bright (quantum yield = 40−90%), stable, spectrally narrow (< 60 nm) photoluminescence.
