Biotin azide是生物素（维生素H）的衍生物，和叠氮基团共价结合。该试剂可以将多种炔烃化分子包括DNA，寡核苷酸，蛋白标记上生物素。生物素连接亲和素或链霉亲和素可以用于下游的亲和应用来分离生物素化分子或成为连接链霉亲和素的复合物。
