Description | The HeLa Overexpressing Stable tCD-Luc2 Cell Line contains the fusion gene tCD2-luc2 from the luciferase 2 protein and the rat CD2 protein. The overexpression of tCD2-luc2 in the HeLa cells was done by stable transfection using lentiviral infection with the plasmid DNA containing the fusion gene. The growth of this cell line is identical to the wild type cells which indicates that the exogenous protein tCD2-luc2 has no toxic effect. The HeLa Overexpressing Stable tCD-Luc2 Cell Line shows a significant amount of luciferase activity which produces bioluminescent cells. This is useful as an experimental tool of major importance for cancer investigation, especially imaging of tumors in xenografted animals where stable GFP, labelling of tumor cells have to be avoided. |

Propagation | Use of PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells in ECM-coated culture vessels with the following conditions. The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available from abm(TM003). To make the completed growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: Fetal Bovine Serum (TM999) to final concentration of 10% and 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution. Atmosphere: air: 95%, CO₂: 5%; Temperature: 37.0°C. |
