>95% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Biological Activity
Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biologically active was determined by its inhibitory effect against single chain tPA induced cleavage of a chromogenic substrate in Imidazole Buffer at 37℃. Half maximal inhibition against 1.0μg/ml of single chain tPA was at a concentration of 1.0μg/ml.

Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in 20mM Tris-HCl, pH8.0, 150mM NaCl, 1mM Cysteine, with 5% Trehalose.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.1EU/μg of rHuPAI-2 as determined by LAL method.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Background
PAI-2 is an inhibitory serpin expressed mainly in keratinocytes, activated monocytes, and placental trophoblasts. It exists predominantly as a 47kDa non-glycosylated intracellular protein which can be induced to be secreted as 60kDa glycoprotein. The glycosylated and unglycosylated forms of PAI-2 are equally effective as inhibitors of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA), the only established physiological target of this serpin.
