It is one of the AAA ATPas found in the 19S regulatory complex that is thought to participate in the unfolding of ubiquitinated proteins in an ATP dependent manner. It has also been shown to directly interact with the nucleotide excision repair protein XPB. Function: The 26S protease is involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins甲状腺受体相互作用蛋白1抗体. The regulatory (or ATPase) complex confers ATP dependency and substrate specificity to the 26S complex.
